BANKRUPTCY GUIDE

WHAT WILL THIS DO TO MY CREDIT RATING?

Typically bad debts will remain on a consumer’s credit history for seven years. from the date of the delinquency. However a creditor may, by way of a Motion in the State Court, revive a Judgment against a Debtor for a period of up to 20 yrs. If one files a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy it could remain on one’s credit history for ten years.  The good news however, is that a bankruptcy clears up your outstanding defaulted loans and creditors are usually more apt to extend credit to a person discharged in bankruptcy as compared to one with current outstanding defaults.
